Rising to the top of the charts, Killing the Father of Our Country by Little Falls’ Allison Whittenberg has claimed the coveted title of #1 New Release in Teen & Young Adult Fiction on Boys’ & Men’s Issues on Amazon Kindle. This emotionally raw and intensely powerful novel is a bold addition to the young adult literary canon, challenging, timely, and unforgettable.

In a quiet town in Wisconsin, sixteen-year-old Jonah Thelen lives anything but a quiet life. Charged with protecting his younger brother, Solly, from a violent stepfather, Jonah has carried the weight of responsibility beyond his years. When the abuse becomes unbearable, Jonah makes a decision that will upend both their lives: he’s going to kill Nick, their tormentor and Solly’s biological father.

But just as Jonah believes he’s taking control of an uncontrollable situation, Solly begins to suspect the truth. The deep bond between the brothers is tested as loyalty, trauma, and moral ambiguity collide.

“I wasn’t just Solly’s brother; I was his protector…” The story begins, ushering readers into a harrowing, heartfelt journey that blends suspense with a gut-wrenching emotional core.

Killing the Father of Our Country is a standout YA novel that refuses to shy away from hard truths. Whittenberg delivers a taut, beautifully written exploration of the desperate measures taken in the name of love and survival, leaving readers with haunting questions about justice, sacrifice, and the gray spaces in between.

This is not just a book, it’s a conversation starter.

Praise for the novel:

“A gripping, fearless story that doesn’t flinch.”
“A brilliant, emotionally complex portrait of brotherhood.”
“Raw and riveting. Teens and adults alike will be shaken and changed.”
