LITTLE FALLS, NY – The Town of Little Falls invites all residents to a Community Visioning Session on Wednesday, October 22 at 6:00 p.m. at Benton Hall Academy Auditorium to help shape the Town’s first ever Comprehensive Plan.

The session will feature Scott Ferguson, Executive Director of the Institute for Rural Vitality at SUNY Cobleskill, along with John Piseck from the Herkimer County Industrial Development Agency (IDA). Together, they will share examples and insights from other rural communities that have faced similar challenges and opportunities in agriculture, business development, and local infrastructure.

Residents will also hear more about the results of the spring community survey and the draft goals now taking shape for the Comprehensive Plan.

“This is about bringing the community together to take the next step,” said Town Supervisor Dan Casler. “We listened in the spring. Now we want residents’ ideas and strategies to bring shape to the goals and life to the plan.”

Following brief presentations, residents will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss ideas with one another, working together to explore strategies for bringing community priorities and comprehensive plan goals to life.

“Our town’s strength is in its people,” Steve Salamone, Chair of the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, added. “This plan is about preserving what makes the Town of Little Falls special and finding ways to grow responsibly. We can only do that by working together.”
