Many businesses are set to start the reopening process this weekend, and Herkimer County Legislature Chairman Vincent J. Bono said, “Businesses that qualify for opening under Phase 1 must read all pertinent information and follow guidelines before opening. Also, they must affirm that they have read and understand by signing electronically. A NY Forward Business Re-Opening Safety Plan template must be downloaded, filled out, and kept on file to present to any enforcement agent if needed.”
Businesses in each region will re-open in phases. Re-opening refers to non-essential businesses and business activities. Essential businesses and business activities that are open will remain open. The guidelines below apply to both non-essential businesses in regions that are permitted to re-open and essential businesses throughout the state that were previously permitted to remain open.
Eligibility for reopening is determined by health metrics for each region.
