It wasn’t what you would call perfect weather this morning for the 6th annual Turkey Trot race in Little Falls. It was wet, damp, cold, slippery, and, well, maybe a little bit of fun as well in our first snowfall of the season.

Race organizer Rob Richard said, “This is our 6th annual Turkey Trot 5K and by far the most challenging weather of any of our races, although the first one was around zero. It was a little sloppy out there, but we’re happy we got 125 registered runners. It sold out, and we have one hundred or so actually out there on the course, which is to be expected.”

Richard went on to thank the race sponsors: Persnickety Pixe cleaning service, Beardslee Castle restaurant, Snack Rack, a health food store in New Hartford, and Little Falls Live Well Fitness.

“They all help make it possible for us to give more money to charity,” he said.

Richard continued, “Thank you to the City of Little Falls and the police department. We couldn’t do it without them since it keeps the runners safe. Also, thank you to all of our volunteers who were out there on the course helping to direct people.”
