The Compassionate Friends of the Mohawk Valley is an officially chartered local chapter of The Compassionate Friends (“TCF”), a national nonprofit organization that sponsors local support chapters and holds events to honor and recognize children who have passed away at any age and from any cause. https://www.compassionatefriends.org/
Unfortunately, the Mohawk Valley (and surrounding areas) greatly need support for grieving parents, as our area has so many families who have lost children to many different causes and at every age possible. Our next meetings are scheduled for:
- Tues. May 2 at the Dolgeville Community Center, 36 Slawson St., Dolgeville.
All meetings will begin at 7 pm and run until around 8:15 pm or so. All meetings are free, nondenominational, and open to any adults who have lost a child, sibling, or grandchild. Also, child loss is not something one “gets over,” and so we want to make sure those whose loss may not be recent know that this will be a place they are welcomed.
