MEXICO, N.Y. — The CVA Thunder Wrestling Team competed in the Section III, Class B Tournament in Mexico, N.Y. on Saturday.
The Thunder have an overall record of 22-3, with a league record of 4-2. They are in third place in the Tri-Valley League.
CVA placed sixth in overall team points on Saturday with 130.5. The top four wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the Section III, D2 Tournament next Saturday at Onondaga Community College.
Four CVA wrestlers will be at Onondaga CC next week based on their performance this past Saturday. Three Thunder won their weight classes, with Vinny Henrickson winning the 116 pounds crown, Gene Edwards reigning supreme at 131 pounds, and Braiden Hight winning it all at 145 pounds. Antonio Soullas will be joining his teammates after finishing in second place at 152 pounds.
