The Little Falls School District has been selected as the “Best in Herkimer County” by Niche, which is a small team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
According to their website, they are a unique blend of data scientists, engineers, parents, and “yinzers” who are passionate about helping people discover the schools, companies, and neighborhoods that are right for you.
Niche grades and rankings are calculated using dozens of public data sets and millions of reviews.
Their data scientists and user researchers rigorously analyze data and user opinions to assess the key aspects of K-12 Schools, Colleges, and Places to Live. Every month, millions of students and families use Niche grades and report cards to find the right school or neighborhood that will fit them best.
One of the key findings in their report was that Little Falls has an 11:1 Student to Teacher ratio, compared to the national average of 17:1.
Keith Levatino, School District Superintendent said, “This acknowledgment is a result of having a strong formula for success. Specifically, a devoted educational community (faculty/staff, students, parents, and community) that makes the academic, social and emotional needs of all students it’s number one priority.”
Reviews from their website were positive as well. “My experience at Little Falls has been wonderful! I was always supported by my staff and other students. I feel that my school has provided me with a great foundation to go on to college and to use in my future. My teachers were caring, enthusiastic and worked really hard to make sure my school ran effectively, efficiently and that all of us felt happy and cared for.”
Another reviewer said, “The best thing about attending Little Falls City school district is the sense of community. Throughout elementary school up until now, I have always felt important. All of the teachers cared for each individual and made sure we were successful. The teachers wanted us to move on to the next grade, not because they wanted us gone, but because they wanted us to succeed.”
