Lorraine M. Carpenter

Lorraine M. Carpenter, 68, of St. Johnsville, New York, and formerly of Salisbury Center, New York, passed away on Thursday evening, March 23, 2023, at Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Gloversville, New York.

She was born on August 12, 1954, in Little Falls, New York, and was the daughter of the late Howard and Julia (Flint) Carpenter. Lorraine was educated at Little Falls High School.

Lorraine was previously employed with Dolgeville Central School as a janitor for 16 years. She then went on to work for the Dolgeville-Manheim Library and the Dolgeville United Methodist Church, where she also performed janitorial duties.

Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, taking walks, summertime, and she especially loved her family picnics. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed deeply.

She is survived by her beloved son, Matthew Kane, of St. Johnsville, NY; her siblings, Howard E. Carpenter of Dolgeville, NY, Joseph D. Carpenter, Ann Marie Carpenter, and Ronald D. Carpenter all of St. Johnsville, NY; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, New York 13329. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 5 p.m. also at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Worley officiating. A burial will take place in the spring at Salisbury Rural Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her parents at a date and time to be announced.
