The Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts returned to the “All Art” Regional Exhibition for this fall and had its opening reception on Saturday night.
Juror Ann Larsen stated, “This is the first show I’ve ever juried down here. My husband juried the photography show awhile back and he was telling me how wonderful it was and he suggested to Bob Buck that I might be a good juror.”
She juried the entries online. “I was surprised that when I saw them in person, they were better than online.”
Larsen was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and has been an artist most of her life, currently represented in about seven or eight galleries around the country. “I’ve been a professional artist for about 30 years, and I teach workshops all around the country.”
There were a couple of pieces in the show that surprised her. “I think the one that I picked to be the Best in Show, as far as composition and the ability to paint and draw, was well worth the prize.”
“I live in Edinburg, New York, on the Great Scandaga Lake,” she said.
Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 12 – 4 PM at 403 Canal Place, Little Falls, NY 13365. Call 315-823-0808 for information or to make an appointment.
