It was all Blueberries, Blues, and BBQ in Dolgeville on Saturday, as the Village held its festival in near-perfect weather. The farmer’s market, themed basket raffle, chicken BBQ, and blueberry ice cream social were on tap, as well as plenty of music in Plowe Park.

Mayor Mary Puznowski said, “Dolgeville Forward started the event pre-Covid, and we had a fantastic first year. Then Covid hit, and we had to take a hiatus for a couple of years, so we came back this year to get the ball rolling again.”

They set up in the Plowe Park area and, thanks to Jeff Grace, in front of the old school as well. “I believe that we’re getting a nice renewed energy in the Village. There’s a lot happening in Dolgeville, and people are starting to realize that. We want to get folks in to see what we have to offer here and the opportunities that exist.”

Different businesses in the Village participated as well with special offerings. “There’s a lot of interest from local businesses that want to get involved. Everybody feels like they want to be part of what’s happening in Dolgeville now,” she stated.

Puznowski said she sees more pride in the Village and how people care for their properties. “They’re excited about the construction that’s going to start on Main Street in the spring. It’s going to get worse before it gets better, but it will get better. It’s all positive.”
